Carvin began selling basic pro audio gear in the late 1960's, and expanded the
line gradually throughout the 1970's. By the 1980's, Carvin's pro audio line was
as respected in the industry as their guitars, basses and amplifiers. Like
Carvin's other equipment, the pro audio gear was in reach of the up-and-coming
musician, as well as smaller venues and churches, because of Carvin's "buy
direct" business model. However, that didn't keep some of the biggest performers
of the 80's and beyond from using Carvin pro audio, especially once larger
mixers, amps and speakers were introduced that were suitable for largest venues.
Shown below is Carvin's Super Concert 10 Sound System from 1977, and the 1977 Carvin catalog cover (inset).
